Creative Sanctuary
A space to pause, create and reconnect
I am an Art Psychotherapist, Mental Health Nurse and facilitator with over three decades of experience working within mental health and trauma.
My work brings together art-making, mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery, music, poetry, creative writing, symbolism and the natural world.
A Safe Space to Create
I create spaces where people can pause, breathe, explore and reconnect through creativity.
You don't need to be an artist. There is no right or wrong way to create. The invitation is simply to come, explore and see what emerges.

What People Say
“In our Art Therapy sessions Dena has helped me to access that part of me that I suppressed for so many years. Her caring and down to earth manner created a safe place for me to find my voice that I was unable to express.”
“The art fills an extremely large void that verbal communication finds lacking – it can describe thoughts and feelings that words cannot. It can express the innermost depths of past trouble and future aspirations.”
“Art has been a powerful medium and assisted me greatly in my journey of awareness. It has allowed me to search and find a visual permanency outside of my head. Art has contributed greatly to my sense of peace and understanding.”
“The combination of physical, emotional and spiritual energy when transformed to paper using whatever medium feels appropriate can show others so much and give oneself great relief.”
“Has allowed me to visualize abstractly the inner feelings and explore and depict solutions and resolutions to my own issues. Fantastic and insightful.”
“Working with art materials and the creative process tapped into my spirituality, faith and relationship with God.”
“The Art Therapy process was a meditation.”
“Found peace and quiet away from the turmoil. New awakening, definitely.”
